8/20/2009 - To improve customer service and stimulate growth in North America’s trade-show capital, Skyline Exhibits has opened a corporate retail center in its service center in Las Vegas. Bringing sales and exhibit design in Las Vegas under Skyline’s corporate umbrella puts greater focus on customer service, backed by the resources and reputation of a premier, global exhibit company. “We needed a larger presence in this major venue city,” said Michael Vekich, Executive Chairman of Skyline Exhibits. “Now we have created a one-stop shop with a comprehensive array of capabilities for local exhibitors.” The corporate retail center replaces an independent dealer in Las Vegas. Teaming with the service center and its staff of about 20 people, the corporate retail center offers sale or rental and design of everything from portable displays to large custom modular exhibits plus comprehensive graphics capabilities and a menu of services to ensure stress-free exhibiting. The service center will continue to provide service to clients of Skyline’s global dealer network when they exhibit in the Las Vegas area. “It makes sense to have one Skyline in Las Vegas, so the service center is not competing with an independent dealer on services,” Vekich said. “Working as a team under one roof, we’re able to provide better customer service to clients in Las Vegas. For all other Skyline clients coming to Las Vegas, the service center is right there to support them with quick response to virtually any need.” The service center’s capabilities include complete exhibit production, printing of graphics, rental of exhibit components, exhibit staging for inspection, exhibit repair, emergency parts replacement, installation and dismantling (I&D), asset management, storage and shipping. Skyline hopes to match the results following a similar move in 2007, when the company replaced a local dealership with a corporate retail center embedded in the service center in Orlando. “Our growth has been phenomenal in Orlando–more than 25 percent annually–since the conversion because of the synergy we get with sales and service,” Vekich said. For example, the corporate retail center now can compete for large events at Las Vegas hotels. For private shows, Skyline can design sprawling custom modular exhibits for theme-based experiential marketing. For pavilion-style shows, Skyline can provide a fleet of 50 or 100 identical displays–with the option of adding custom graphic skins for each exhibitor. Skyline recruited senior account executive Eric Jabloner, a 30-year veteran of the trade-show industry, to head the corporate retail center. In 21 years with Skyline dealerships in Phoenix and Connecticut, Jabloner used his industry experience and commitment to service to become one of the top exhibit consultants in the Skyline network. He previously worked as an exhibit designer and creative director in the New York area after receiving a degree in design and architecture from the University of Arizona. Las Vegas area organizations can contact Jabloner at ericjabloner@skyline.com. Skyline opened a depot in Las Vegas in 1998 for rental exhibit hardware and client storage. Upgrading to a service center in 2005 created cost-saving logistical advantages for Skyline clients who exhibit in Las Vegas. Buying or renting an exhibit through a local Skyline dealer and having it fulfilled by the service center replaces cross-country shipping with local delivery and trims rental time by several days. The Las Vegas service center is expected to be certified for installation and dismantling (I&D) during the fourth quarter of 2009. Skyline developed a certification program in 2008 to establish strict guidelines for I&D performance and to achieve uniform quality throughout the Skyline network. The Orlando service center has already been certified. Skyline Exhibits is a brand of exhibit systems.
